This is my now page, it’s like an about page… but for now. Read more here.

Work

I have been working independently for several clients as a full-stack developer and general tech consultant during which I’ve launched and maintained several WordPress sites and a few static websites. My responsibilities include web-development, online marketing/brand-management, and general tech support.

Education

I’ve decided to go back to college to get my AS in Computer Science! I’ll be starting this Summer at my local community college. Wish me luck!

Code/Tech

I enjoy writing Rust for personal projects and have shared some of my experiences with it. I would love to be paid to work with it more! I also enjoy practicing web-dev on my own time through exploring static site generators like Astro (what this site was built with), 11ty, and Zola.

Most recently I’ve rekindled my desire to learn and practice game-development! I’m (slowly) working through something called The 20 Games Challenge, I’ve made two games so far and have written about the experiences here. Additionally, I am now the proud owner of a Playdate which I am very excited to start making games for!

My stance toward AI/LLMs started as somewhat favorable but nuanced, and I used them to help me write code for several months. But I began noticing indicators that this usage was robbing me of my opportunity to grow, and that it had become reflexive, so I no longer use them for writing code (or anything else for that matter). There’s a lot more I have to say about this, pending a full-fledged post which I’ll definitely get around to. 👀

3d-printing

I haven’t done much of anything in the way of 3d-printing in the last 6mo, so here’s what I’ve been up to most recently.

Last year was a big year for my 3d-printing hobby, in which I printed around 775m of filament (also since I started tracking with Mainsail)! The majority of that length was racked-up printing parts for a DIY CNC machine (not for me, sadly). Last year I installed a direct drive mod onto my one-and-only Ender 3 Pro, and I plan to eventually try printing some things with TPU.
